About the position

StimLabs is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our Operations department in Roswell, GA. This role is crucial for executing activities necessary for the timely and strategic procurement of goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies essential for the organization. The Purchasing Manager will report directly to the Director of Procurement & Planning and will be responsible for designing and implementing methods to gather and manage supply chain data effectively. In this position, the Purchasing Manager will research and identify the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods, ensuring that the organization maximizes its resources. A significant part of the role involves reviewing and analyzing gathered data to identify weaknesses in the supply chain process and developing strategies to improve efficiency. The Purchasing Manager will also research partner companies and negotiate best-price contracts to enhance business revenue. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will plan and implement supply chain optimization projects, maintaining a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting the company's initiatives and values. This role requires a proactive approach to improving all aspects of the supply chain department by reviewing current methodologies and processes. The Purchasing Manager will also perform other related duties as assigned by management, including providing backup for other Supply Chain functions such as planning and inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement methods to gather and manage supply chain data.
  • Research and seek out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methods.
  • Review and analyze gathered data to locate weaknesses in the supply chain process and develop methods to improve.
  • Research partner companies and negotiate best-price contracts to increase business revenue.
  • Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values.
  • Assist in promoting a positive image and inter-business relationship with business partners and vendors.
  • Seek to improve all aspects of the supply chain department by reviewing current methodology and processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management, including backup of other Supply Chain functions such as planning and inventory control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • Five to ten years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook at an intermediate skill level.
  • Experience analyzing and improving supply chain data, information, and processes.
  • Supply Chain Management certification is preferred but not necessary.
  • High-level understanding of all aspects of supply chain processes.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems, especially Infor Syteline, strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Professional communication skills essential for conversing and negotiating with vendors.
  • Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenges and needs to be addressed.
  • Ability to research companies and determine the best vendors for various projects.
  • Experience working to improve all aspects of the supply chain by streamlining steps and locating the best prices for inventory.

Nice-to-haves

  • Supply Chain Management certification.
  • Experience with ERP systems, especially Infor Syteline.
