About the position

This position reports to the COO and involves managing the negotiation of new and existing contracts for purchased goods and services, including long-term agreements, consignment programs, and outsourcing requirements. The role requires participation in strategic sourcing activities to procure necessary goods and services, refining the supply chain management (SCM) organization's infrastructure, and ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines. Responsibilities also include establishing annual goals and objectives, developing common processes and performance metrics, and working with the Quality Manager to implement a supplier quality program. The position aims to deliver annual savings targets through effective purchasing strategies and maintain ISO-related documentation relevant to procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Supply Chain Strategist for managing the negotiation of new and existing contracts for purchased goods and services.
  • Participate in strategic sourcing activities to procure required goods and services.
  • Refine the SCM organization's infrastructure incorporating policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Assist the supervisor with the establishment of annual goals/objectives, strategies, and tactics.
  • Establish common processes, performance metrics, standards, and a supplier quality program.
  • Rationalize the current supply base to maximize purchasing leverage and reduce risk.
  • Deliver annual savings targets through well-developed purchasing strategies.
  • Maintain ISO-related documentation relevant to the procurement function.
  • Work with Senior Supply Chain Strategist for new product development purchasing requirements.
  • Proactively contact suppliers to resolve production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems.
  • Develop and implement communication methods to assist supply chain partners.
  • Analyze demand data and create purchasing strategies to implement into ERP systems.
  • Monitor material inventories and track production schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, with additional APICS certification or similar coursework completed.
  • 5 - 10 years' experience in sourcing, purchasing, and supply chain management in an ERP/MRP-based manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of current supply chain management and manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Track record of driving operational excellence and best practices across the supply chain organization.
  • Solid negotiation, financial, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in sourcing of purchased goods and services needed for manufacturing operations.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and in an ERP environment.
  • Engaging leadership style, with a track record of mentoring and developing teams.
  • Effective communicator with active listening skills.
