About the position

The position is responsible for the development and deployment of Supply Chain strategies, Scheduling, and Purchase Estimating for North America. The individual will collaborate with functional leaders and internal stakeholders to drive alignment in supply planning and sourcing priorities for various programs. This role is accountable for overseeing tactical supply planning and execution, as well as managing the supplier network. The successful candidate will work closely with both internal and external functional leaders to design and implement programs and initiatives that enhance operational efficiency. In addition to strategic oversight, the position involves managing and overseeing the purchasing team. This includes providing continuous coaching and conducting personnel reviews to ensure the ongoing development of team members, promoting quality and growth within the team. The individual will be responsible for developing and implementing departmental processes aimed at continuously improving the quality and timing of supply chain operations. They will oversee the Sourcing Strategy for Direct, Indirect, and Services, setting departmental and personal goals that can be benchmarked through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with a focus on year-over-year improvements. The role requires seeking out and capitalizing on strategic opportunities that yield significant advantages for UTEC, particularly in improving quality, delivery, and cost. Building and maintaining relationships with current and new vendors is crucial to enhance supplier deliveries, quality, and cost efficiency. The individual will create supplier scorecards to evaluate supplier performance, research and identify new vendors to strengthen the supply chain base, and negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers. Additionally, they will schedule deliveries and ensure timely product delivery from suppliers, addressing any quality or timeliness issues through a corrective action process. The position also involves maintaining financial records of past orders, reviewing these for cost, delivery, and vendor performance. The individual will attend kick-off meetings, buy-offs, and other job-oriented conferences to stay updated on the latest changes in jobs, products, and proposals. Organizing departmental meetings to communicate job structures, budgets, and timing is also a key responsibility. The candidate must understand and follow safety and environmental regulations, identifying any concerns, and adhere to Quality Systems while participating in continuous improvement initiatives. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or 25 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
