About the position

Universal Signs & Accessories is seeking a motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement processes and financial operations. This role combines responsibilities from both purchasing and finance, providing significant career development potential in a fast-paced environment. The Purchasing Manager will manage vendor relations, create purchase orders, and ensure efficient business performance while collaborating with a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Create and issue purchase orders for necessary materials and equipment.
• Analyze stock levels and manage vendor lead times.
• Coordinate purchase deliveries and shipments to meet project deadlines.
• Handle billing issues with vendors, ensuring timely payment resolutions.
• Maintain accurate purchase order-related bills and logs.
• Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and improve efficiency.
• Oversee general accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable.
• Manage customer credit applications and assign credit limits and terms.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Ensure compliance with State Sales & Use Taxes and other regulatory requirements.
• Document, monitor, and update accounting policies.
• Prepare monthly reports for ownership on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend implementation strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience in accounting or finance management (2+ years), preferably in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and exercise sound fiscal judgment.
• Familiarity with accounting software and advanced computer skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• CPA a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
• CPA certification is a plus.
