About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Sterling St James LLC is responsible for overseeing strategic sourcing, category management, and tactical purchasing activities, particularly focusing on Indirect and Service categories. This role is crucial for driving cost efficiency and service improvement within the organization, requiring a detail-oriented and motivated individual to manage various spend areas effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments, analyze costs, and identify areas for improvement in cost and service.
  • Gather and analyze data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine business needs.
  • Prepare bid analysis and present sourcing recommendations.
  • Negotiate terms, draft agreements, and manage contracts with key stakeholders.
  • Implement programs/projects, assess risks, evaluate successes and failures, and make process changes for future improvement.
  • Manage all aspects of spend categories, including transactional activities.
  • Track vendor performance and identify new opportunities.
  • Create and manage reports to measure cost and service improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar Procurement role.
  • Experience with facilities services is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel is essential.
  • Preferably experience with Coupa and SAP (or other large ERP system).
