About the position

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the procurement of fixtures, furniture, and equipment (FFE) for the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center (CRWC) capital construction project. This role involves collaborating with various teams to identify equipment needs, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with university purchasing protocols. The position requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to track orders, manage deliveries, and maintain inventory effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain CRWC 'loose equipment' excel spreadsheet
  • Work with Campus Recreation staff and Wellness Team staff to identify needed equipment
  • Shop the best vendors and verify lead times to make decisions on purchasing timeline
  • Track orders and manage multiple delivery locations based on CRWC construction timeline
  • Manage deliveries and inventory FFE
  • Assist Campus Recreation staff in loading inventory into Connect2Concepts asset management system
  • Work with University Purchasing to set up contracts for ongoing equipment service plans
  • Manage sole source justification process as needed
  • Support process improvement around Campus Recreation purchasing protocols
  • Lead purchasing of all department supplied fixtures, furniture, and equipment for the CRWC project
  • Serve as the liaison between Wellness Team staff and vendors
  • Track transactions, invoices, delivery, and inventory

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organizational skills
