About the position

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement process of goods and services for a leading ENR contractor based in Massachusetts. This role focuses on ensuring that the company acquires necessary materials at the best possible cost, quality, and delivery, while adhering to organizational policies and procedures. The position offers a clear path to a Director level role.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and evaluating suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiating contracts and terms of agreement.
• Ensuring supplier compliance to contractual requirements at the lowest price without sacrificing quality or delivery time.
• Collaborating with Estimators and Project Managers to ensure prompt delivery.
• Checking for discrepancies in invoices and inspecting materials for shortages, damaged goods, and material quality.
• Collaborating with the legal department to ensure contract compliance and risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, negotiation, vendor evaluation, and contract management in the construction industry.
• Heavy Civil/Structural experience required.
