About the position

Blink Marketing Logistics is a marketing fulfillment and print services provider dedicated to helping clients achieve their marketing goals. The Purchasing Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the purchasing activities of the organization, ensuring that the procurement of goods, materials, and services aligns with the company's operational needs. This full-time, on-site position is located at the main headquarters in Perrysburg, OH, and reports directly to the President/CEO. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for negotiating price, quality, and delivery of goods to ensure a continuous supply that meets the company's operational requirements. This role involves analyzing financial reports, monitoring market trends, and evaluating supplier performance to optimize procurement processes. The Purchasing Manager will also develop innovative strategies to improve operational efficiency and contribute to the company's overall performance. In addition to managing supplier relationships and preparing purchase orders, the Purchasing Manager will interact with clients to gather specifications and present options. This position requires excellent communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. The Purchasing Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with contracts and managing performance improvement activities with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the purchasing activities of the organization.
  • Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk to business operations.
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports, ERP system, project plans, etc., to align purchasing with overall project and departmental goals.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and market suppliers.
  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity with suppliers, products, and reduce costs where possible.
  • Deliver briefs, updates, and reports as required.
  • Develop creative and innovative procurement processes.
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices, and terms of business with suppliers.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.
  • Interact with clients to collect specifications, present options, or perform research.
  • Make recommendations and offer solutions for client requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and purchasing practices and principles.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs, and make business improvements.
  • Contract management and supplier experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of supply chain management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • High integrity, good attention to detail, and dependability.
