About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Clean Harbors in El Dorado, AR is responsible for overseeing the purchasing and MRO inventory management for the facility. This role emphasizes health and safety compliance while managing vendor relationships, creating purchase orders, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory levels. The position also involves collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams to identify parts and manage rental equipment effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety compliance by adhering to safe work practices and policies.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to identify correct parts and opportunities.
• Identify appropriate vendors for purchasing identified parts.
• Work directly with suppliers to maintain accurate delivery schedules and expedite orders as needed.
• Create Purchase Orders in the Maintenance System and PeopleSoft System.
• Manage all rental equipment used at the facility.
• Oversee the Central Stores for the facility, ensuring critical inventory spares are maintained.
• Verify on-hand quantities through cycle counts and inventories.
• Review part availability and lead times to validate stocking levels.
• Order supplies as they are depleted from stock.
• Receive parts into inventory upon delivery.
• Ensure parts are issued against the appropriate work orders.
• Run Month End Reports to identify total Inventory Valuation and aggregate monthly transactions.
• Handle special projects as directed by the facility GM, including equipment verification and new equipment requests.
• Review new inventory requests to avoid duplicate parts and evaluate new parts as replacements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years of experience in a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel is required.
• 3 years' experience in Purchasing and Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) supplies management.
