About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Beacon Recycling is a newly created role focused on overseeing the entire purchasing process for a variety of products and services. This position offers the opportunity to shape the role and lead the growth of the purchasing department with the support of a dedicated management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing or supply chain management and will be responsible for evaluating current purchasing activities, negotiating contracts, and maintaining supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate current purchasing activities and processes throughout the company to develop a comprehensive purchasing program.
• Work within established budgets for all purchases including CAPEX projects.
• Evaluate suppliers and create and maintain an approved supplier list.
• Negotiate contract terms, including price and delivery of goods and services.
• Track and ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Maintain updated records of purchases, deliveries, and invoices.
• Establish, maintain, and monitor stock levels and place orders as necessary.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders as needed.
• Create and maintain good relationships with key suppliers.
• Resolve conflicts with delivery schedules, product defects, and parts inventory levels.
• Track and report on supplier and vendor performance, as well as cost-saving measures reached.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Purchasing or Supply Chain Management experience and a 4-year degree OR 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain management experience.
• Strong negotiating skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
