About the position

The Purchasing Manager leads and develops the Purchasing Team within the Automation Solutions Business Unit, focusing on the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services to meet the financial and operational objectives of the organization. This role is responsible for implementing advanced Supply Chain Strategies, fostering a Lean Culture, and ensuring the team's growth and performance through effective management and collaboration with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Purchasing Team to achieve procurement objectives.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Materials, Project Managers, Engineering, Sales, and leadership to enhance Supply Chain performance.
• Develop and execute strategies for on-time delivery, inventory turns, and cost improvements.
• Facilitate strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Investigate potential delays or quality issues and identify alternative plans.
• Support the removal of barriers to improve shipping and receiving costs.
• Establish and maintain systems to ensure an ethical work environment.

Requirements

• Materials, Business, Finance, or Engineering degree, or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years of Direct Purchasing or Sourcing Leadership Experience.
• Experience with computerized purchasing systems including EPR/MRP, with SAP experience desired.
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to function independently.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
