About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Creekstone Farms is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of various goods, including packaging materials, tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment. This role focuses on developing supply agreements, ensuring timely procurement, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining inventory levels to support production operations. The Purchasing Manager will also engage in inventory management and warehouse operations to enhance the company's effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan material requirements and generate purchase orders.
• Follow up with vendors and evaluate prices.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and vendor records.
• Implement mathematical models and utilize ERP tools for stock replenishment.
• Improve customer order fill rates and minimize inventory carrying costs.
• Report daily and weekly usage.
• Build effective working relationships with internal and external partners.
• Organize and control warehouse operations, including managing direct and indirect reports.
• Fulfill management objectives, particularly in controlling material costs.
• Establish and maintain budgets.
• Plan warehouse resources and activities in line with company objectives.
• Implement cost reduction strategies for warehouse transactions.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems.
• Manage cost-saving implementations.
• Ensure adherence to Creekstone Purchasing Policy.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Collaborate and analyze effectively.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and/or 3-5 years equivalent experience.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office products.
• Food/Meat Industry Experience preferred.
