About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley will play a crucial role in the procurement operations of the hotel, which is set to open in late 2024 in the renowned Deer Valley ski resort. This position involves managing the entire purchasing process, including submitting purchase orders, receiving merchandise, processing requisitions, and handling invoices and remittances. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the inventory is updated in real-time based on invoice and item delivery, as well as overseeing the completion of the payment process for all outstanding invoices. This role is essential in maintaining the operational efficiency of the hotel and ensuring that all supplies are available for the smooth running of hotel services. In addition to the core responsibilities, the Purchasing Manager will need to physically receive daily deliveries, which include food and beverage inventory, hotel supplies, and various products. The position requires a strong understanding of inventory and warehouse management, as well as basic accounting procedures. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for verifying the accuracy of all items and prices on invoices received for purchase order fulfillment. The Purchasing Manager will also be tasked with rectifying any discrepancies on invoices prior to processing and tracking the invoice process through to payment. Establishing priority payments for invoices due within a 30-day credit limit and maintaining online payment records will also be part of the job responsibilities. The Purchasing Manager may be required to assist in other tasks as needed, contributing to the overall success of the hotel’s operations.
