About the position

The Purchasing Manager at ITC Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services essential for the company's operations. This role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that purchasing activities align with corporate objectives. The Purchasing Manager will also develop purchasing plans and policies, maintain inventory levels, and analyze market conditions to secure the best materials for production.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the procurement of all goods and services for the company.
  • Process purchase orders and follow up on work orders.
  • Conduct bidding processes and maintain min/max levels of stock and equipment.
  • Develop purchasing plans, policies, and procedures for the purchasing area.
  • Negotiate and execute purchase orders or vendor contracts to support business needs.
  • Develop and manage a network of vendors and suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for procurement activities.
  • Control purchasing department budgets and track raw material inventory.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems for raw material availability.
  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for bids.
  • Represent the company in negotiating contracts with suppliers.
  • Manage, mentor, and coach the Purchasing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of related purchasing experience.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of research and networking strategies for identifying supplies.
  • Ability to analyze market data using internal tools.
  • Strong customer service skills with tact and persuasion during negotiations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience in project management and lean manufacturing.
