About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Stone Warehouse is responsible for overseeing the procurement process, sourcing suppliers, and managing vendor relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain while optimizing costs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, making strategic decisions, and implementing best practices within the procurement function to contribute to the company's success in the competitive stone industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies for cost optimization and enhancing supply chain efficiency.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to ethical and sustainability standards.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing and payment terms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, supplier capabilities, and pricing fluctuations.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation and issue resolution.
  • Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and implement inventory management strategies.
  • Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings to higher management.
  • Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a purchasing manager.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, strategies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience in the Indian market and familiarity with local suppliers and sourcing channels.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, cost optimization, and negotiation techniques.
  • Knowledge of vendor management and inventory management systems.
  • Analytical mind with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and systems.
