About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Sacyr will play a pivotal role in sourcing equipment, goods, and services while managing vendor relationships. This position requires a strategic approach to procurement activities across various spend categories, with the goal of securing better deals and establishing profitable supplier partnerships. The Purchasing Manager will leverage their expertise in supplier relationship management and negotiation skills to ensure that procurement processes are both cost-effective and of high quality. In this role, the Purchasing Manager will analyze market trends, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to optimize procurement strategies. The responsibilities include developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses, and improving overall effectiveness. The manager will craft negotiation strategies to close deals with optimal terms and partner with stakeholders to ensure clear documentation of requirements. Additionally, the role involves forecasting price and market trends to identify shifts in buyer-supplier dynamics, performing cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking to assess and manage risks effectively. The Purchasing Manager will also be responsible for seeking and partnering with reliable vendors and suppliers, determining the quantity and timing of deliveries, and monitoring and forecasting upcoming demand levels. This position includes supervisory responsibilities, ensuring that the procurement team operates efficiently and effectively to meet the company's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power

  • Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager, Agent, or Officer
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
  • Direct experience in negotiation and networking
  • Working experience of vendor management software
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
  • Solid judgement along with decision making skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • BS degree in supply chain management, civil construction, or business administration
  • Should have DBE Certification or have the industry knowledge
  • Should have CFA Certification or have the industry knowledge
