About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Fox Creek Homes is responsible for overseeing the purchasing processes for new construction homes across multiple locations in South Carolina and Georgia. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate procurement of materials, while also managing vendor relationships and project costs.

Responsibilities

• Place and track purchases made based on estimates created
• Negotiate and validate pricing and legitimacy of extra purchase orders
• Facilitate back charges with at-fault vendors
• Creation of purchase orders
• Review and ensure accuracy of all scopes of work, resolving issues as needed
• Assist in rebate reporting
• Review construction plans and specifications to identify materials and quantities needed
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Create and manage purchasing schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies
• Monitor and track project costs and budget
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing for residential construction project required
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and best practices
• Proficient in current technology
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
