About the position

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the procurement of inventory, supplies, and capital goods for a local manufacturer. This role is crucial for ensuring that the company maintains efficient operations through effective sourcing, vendor management, and inventory control. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for negotiating prices, evaluating vendors, and maintaining positive relationships to support the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently purchase inventory, supplies, and capital equipment.
  • Review and verify purchase requisitions; issue and manage purchase orders.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, and credit terms.
  • Evaluate vendors for cost-effectiveness, performance, and quality.
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships and accurate records.
  • Analyze reorder levels for cost-effective purchasing.
  • Work with Production Scheduler to support manufacturing flow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience.
  • Proficient in Excel and MRP software.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
