About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Sanmina Corporation is responsible for overseeing the Purchasing department within the plant. This role involves managing and supervising staff while addressing complex issues that require in-depth knowledge of the company. The Purchasing Manager will develop methods and evaluation criteria for projects and ensure that budgets and schedules align with corporate requirements. The position emphasizes leadership, motivation, and advanced expertise in Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, and Inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the Purchasing department and staff.
  • Lead and motivate employees while contributing expertise in Supply Chain and Inventory management.
  • Oversee all Planning, Quotes, and Purchasing functions to align with business objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain procurement policies and procedures.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor individual objectives based on group priorities and company strategy.
  • Provide feedback to staff on performance and development plans.
  • Define and establish Supply Chain programs to optimize company effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers to implement strategies and monitor performance.
  • Document and institute corrective action plans for performance issues.
  • Provide complex reports, analyses, and recommendations to management.
  • Manage deliverables and provide regular updates to management on issues and solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of Supply Chain programs such as VMI, VCI, and EDI.
  • Collaborate with customer-focused teams to understand manufacturing volumes and participate in Sales and Operations Planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Procurement and Supply Chain experience in manufacturing environments.
  • At least 3 years in a management position.
  • Strong knowledge of distribution center operations, transportation, and supplier operations.
  • Experience in operations management, cost-benefit analysis, and process improvement.
  • Proficient in demand planning, inventory management, and logistics strategy.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
