About the position

The Purchasing Manager will oversee the entire supply chain process, ensuring efficient procurement, pricing strategies, product selection, and inventory management to meet customer needs and achieve financial and inventory goals set for the warehouse. This role is crucial in managing the end-to-end supply chain, which includes procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution. The Purchasing Manager will utilize sales and trend analytics to develop strategies that optimize product selection and maximize product sales, thereby achieving financial goals. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, as the Purchasing Manager will work closely with merchandising and sales teams to maintain accurate stock levels, prevent overstock or understock situations, and minimize carrying costs. The role requires continuous monitoring of competitors' pricing and market trends to make informed, data-driven pricing decisions. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery performance. The position also involves planning and executing promotions and discounts to drive sales while managing the impact on inventory levels and profitability. The Purchasing Manager will analyze sales data to evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and recommend necessary adjustments. This role is pivotal in managing inventory for optimal Gross Margin Return on Investment (GMROI) and creating marketing materials in collaboration with the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end supply chain process including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution.
  • Achieve financial goals by using sales and trend analytics to develop strategies to optimize product selection and maximize product sales.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Continuously monitor competitors' pricing and market trends to make data-driven pricing decisions.
  • Work closely with merchandising and sales teams to maintain accurate stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
  • Utilize historical sales data and market insights to forecast demand and make inventory replenishment recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms for best pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and distribution teams to ensure timely and accurate product deliveries.
  • Lead in planning and executing promotions and discounts to drive sales while managing inventory levels and profitability.
  • Analyze sales data to evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and recommend adjustments as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, or marketing required.
  • Five years' experience in a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience is necessary.
  • Ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use and/or create data analytics and forecasting tools.
  • Proficient in MS Office and competent using Data Based Software.
  • Experience with product fulfillment and supply chain inventory management.
