The Purchasing Manager at Hyundai Transys Georgia Powertrain, Inc. is responsible for leading supplier sourcing initiatives for Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) projects in North America. This role encompasses a wide range of activities aimed at ensuring the procurement of high-quality sub-components and parts necessary for the production of EV and HEV systems, including motors, inverters, reducer gearboxes, and transmissions. The Purchasing Manager will discover and evaluate suitable suppliers within North America, expanding the supplier pool to meet the localization requirements set forth by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Achieving target pricing while adhering to required specifications and quality standards is paramount in this role. The position requires the calculation of supplier prices for various projects, which involves collecting quotations and conducting thorough analyses of costs. The Purchasing Manager will engage in price negotiations with suppliers to meet the headquarters' target prices and will be responsible for reporting quoted prices back to HQ. This role also includes managing the bidding process and supplier nominations, as well as reviewing and modifying supplier contracts to ensure compliance with purchasing, delivery, and quality requirements. In addition to these responsibilities, the Purchasing Manager will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to effectively manage the Purchasing and Procurement organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with North American car manufacturers, particularly the Big Three, and will possess a strong background in the automotive industry, specifically in purchasing or procurement roles related to transmission companies. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, along with a deep understanding of the EV and HEV markets and the associated supply chain dynamics.
