We are looking for an innovative Procurement Manager to lead our procurement function. You will spearhead the purchasing process from selecting suppliers to ensuring purchasing optimization of goods and/or services and coordinate timely shipping to designated locations as well as provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes. Your Day-to-Day: Develop sound, cost-effective, and innovative procurement and sourcing strategies for the purchasing of materials and services used in the business. Source suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships while continually scouting for additional (back-up) vendors. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate with vendors to secure advantageous terms. Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements while working closely with the company legal department to make sure contracts and terms are favorable. Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility. Evaluate spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and timeliness of deliveries. Coordinate purchase orders, obtain approval for the expenditure, and organize and confirm delivery of goods and services; finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries. Oversee and manage the systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods. Prepare procurement reports to track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness. Conduct cost analysis and set benchmarks for improvement. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company. Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients. Perform analysis to anticipate unfavorable events and prepare control strategies. Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of product shortages. Assist with procurement budgeting (when assigned) and promote a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs. When assigned, supervise a purchasing team and delegate tasks across departments as necessary. Scope of Responsibilities: Our Procurement Manager will be a supply chain and logistics expert who will specialize in implementing cost-effective purchases of all goods and services, as required by the company. The assurance of quality control and adherence to the company's policies and procedures on supply chain management will be some of the main priorities for this role. The job may include supervising and training responsibility of procurement functions. This job may encounter recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm, involving a moderate degree of complexity. Contacts are normally made with others inside and outside the company, including customers, competitors, other departments, immediate associates, and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration, or equivalent work experience of at least five years required.
  • Proven experience managing supply chain operations.
  • Experience using supply chain management software and tools or third-party management software.
  • Experience with Dynamics D365 or similar preferred.
  • Knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Strong management, leadership, collaborations, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with time-management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks necessary.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven working experience as a Procurement Specialist and/or Procurement Manager.
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in 'reading' the market.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
