About the position

The Purchasing Planner for Information Technology at SpaceX plays a vital role in supporting the IT team by managing purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring supply continuity. This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize demand planning and logistics, while also analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Place a high volume of purchase orders and maintain accurate inventory levels for Information Technology hardware
  • Ensure supply continuity by executing a well-thought-out demand plan that optimizes working capital
  • Expand IT planning scope as needed, train stakeholders and set-up part numbers
  • Coordinate with accounts payable and receiving to resolve invoice issues, proactively addressing root causes to avoid recurrence
  • Challenge internal stakeholders' expedite requirements to control logistics costs and work directly with suppliers to improve logistics policy adherence
  • Develop demand models specific to category/project strategies
  • Ensure data integrity and strategic alignment by working closely with suppliers, stakeholders, and procurement managers
  • Provide regular updates to internal customers and team members on project status and lead meetings including suppliers
  • Provide forecasts to suppliers and to purchasing team members as needed for RFPs
  • Be the go-to contact for internal customers to resolve supply issues and address new demand
  • Analyze data derived from SQL to identify opportunities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or other technical or business disciplines
