About the position

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing strategic purchasing plans that align with business, market, and technology trends. This role focuses on optimizing the supply chain, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective sourcing solutions to support the company's mission and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies based on business, market, and technology trends to maintain a strong and competitive supply base.
  • Oversee the procurement of productive/non-productive materials, machinery, tools, and services, ensuring efficiency in production and operations.
  • Manage procurement for indirect materials and services related to construction, including mechanical, electrical, rigging, and insulation.
  • Actively participate in developing commodity strategies, sourcing, negotiation, and budget execution to optimize cost and sourcing.
  • Utilize benchmarking, cost and value chain analysis, negotiations, and supply chain analysis tools to enhance supply performance.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to align priorities, identify creative solutions, and manage processes such as RFQ management, procure-to-pay, and supplier relationship management.
  • Lead purchasing activities that align with business objectives, ensuring the achievement of successful outcomes.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships, conduct regular performance evaluations, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Address critical supply chain risks and develop contingency solutions to prevent disruptions in logistics.
  • Communicate potential impacts on purchasing, logistics, or the broader supply chain to relevant stakeholders transparently.
  • Develop protection and contingency plans to secure supply continuity and manage potential risks.
  • Set clear strategies and lead procurement activities toward achieving common goals, managing day-to-day tasks and performance evaluations.
  • Implement data-driven decision-making using historical data, market trends, and predictive analytics to enhance procurement processes.
  • Leverage digital tools such as ERP systems, e-procurement software, and supplier management platforms to improve transparency and streamline procurement processes.
  • Promote continuous learning, mentorship, and best practices to maintain a high-performing procurement team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong expertise in negotiation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to lead and optimize procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and digital tools.
