About the position
The Purchasing Supervisor at The Driskill is a strategic role that supports the overall operation of the hotel by managing inventory and assisting the Purchasing Director. This position involves overseeing the receipt of food and beverage products, maintaining storeroom organization, and ensuring quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of leading the department in the absence of the Purchasing Director.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Purchasing Director with daily and weekly inventory management.
- Conduct month-end inventories and maintain storeroom organization.
- Receive deliveries and ensure products match purchase orders, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure food products meet quality and freshness standards.
- Place orders for food, beverage, and paper items via procurement system.
- Monitor and maintain food and beverage cost goals throughout the month.
- Fulfill food and beverage requisitions on a daily basis.
- Perform storeroom inventories to maintain par levels.
Requirements
- Previous hotel purchasing/storeroom experience preferred.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Computer/Technology/Internet savvy, comfortable with PO systems such as Birchstreet.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight.
