About the position

The Purchasing Supervisor at Lincoln Electric is responsible for overseeing all product-specific supply chain activities, including direct and indirect material purchasing, inventory control, and supporting project throughput to ensure optimal customer service levels at the best cost. This role involves managing the procurement department, developing procurement plans, leading cost-saving projects, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Procurement department for the site.
  • Create, maintain, and issue monthly procurement plans for all assigned products sourced externally.
  • Lead or support company/intercompany projects related to cost savings and operational improvements.
  • Ensure all departmental processes are followed and develop departmental KPIs.
  • Work with other Department Managers to identify areas for improvement to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage regulatory requirements associated with supply chain management, including international shipment documentation.
  • Ensure accurate release, confirmation, and expediting of all Purchase Orders.
  • Maintain stock inventories and critical materials/components according to defined target values.
  • Perform scenario planning for potential supply disruptions or business continuity issues.
  • Support financial efforts with timely updates on production volumes and pricing.
  • Communicate and escalate supply issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, report project metrics, and conduct detailed analytics for decision-making.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Monitor and evaluate individual staff performance and conduct year-end reviews.
  • Lead the mentoring process for new or inexperienced employees.
  • Determine and maintain appropriate department staff levels and training consistent with business objectives.
  • Develop annual departmental budgets and operations objectives.
  • Proactively address and resolve invoice payment issues.
  • Maintain adequate planning and master data parameters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management or operations management for engineered to order products.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem resolution skills for supply chain issues.
  • Extensive user knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP/MRP systems.
  • Previous team leadership and project management experience.
