About the position

The Purchasing Supply Clerk is responsible for managing inventory supplies and drug orders for healthcare centers. This role involves calculating and placing orders based on established par levels, assisting center managers with non-stock orders, and maintaining accurate records of purchases and inventory counts.

Responsibilities

  • Calculates and places orders for all inventory supplies and drugs based on proper par levels for all centers.
  • Reviews and adjusts par levels daily based on usage.
  • Assists center managers and staff with generation and placement of non-stock orders for supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Monitors and follows up on all orders in the inventory control system.
  • Assists in cycle counting inventory and reports counts to the Material Management Manager.
  • Prepares purchase orders for instruments and equipment repair and rental.
  • Maintains purchase order and requisition files.
  • Inputs data into spreadsheets as directed.
  • Maintains an accurate filing system for purchase orders and requisitions.
  • Reviews backorders and expedites orders as needed.
  • Ensures orders are placed efficiently and reports inefficiencies to the Materials Management Manager.
  • Reports any price discrepancies or issues to the Materials Management Manager.
  • Assists in restocking supplies and backs up other team members when needed.
  • Reviews backorder reports and researches acceptable replacements with vendors and managers.
  • Responds to emails in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of previous experience working with purchasing inventory and supplies, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
