As a Purchasing Warehouse Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our inventory is managed effectively and that our warehouse operations run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include notifying the Purchasing and Sales teams when orders cannot be filled and when inventory levels are low. You will inspect the condition and quantity of received materials before signing for delivery, ensuring that all items are properly placed in their designated bin locations. Additionally, you will label and store all non-stock items, complete cycle counts and inventory checks in a timely and accurate manner, and verify product descriptions, conditions, amounts, and nomenclature. You will also be responsible for accurately completing paperwork such as Bills of Lading and Inventory Count Sheets, logging data into computer systems like MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Publisher, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. Leading by example, you will adhere to and understand safety policies and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. This position may also require you to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Notify Purchasing and Sales when orders can't be filled and/or when inventory levels appear low
  • Inspect condition and quantity of received materials before signing for delivery
  • Properly place received materials in correct bin locations
  • Label and store all non-stock items
  • Complete cycle counts and inventory checks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Verify product descriptions, condition, amounts, and nomenclature
  • Accurately complete paperwork (Bills of Lading, Inventory Count Sheets, etc.)
  • Accurately log data into computer (MS Excel, MS Access, MS Publisher)
  • Move materials
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of warehouse
  • Lead by example, and adhere to and understand safety policies and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and customers (both written and verbal)
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors under adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to handle all types of building products
  • Two to three years previous warehouse and inventory control experience
  • Experience with building materials
  • Experience using forklift
