About the position

The Purchasing/Warehouse Manager at Estes Refrigeration, Inc. is responsible for managing the procurement of materials and equipment essential for the company's construction and service departments. This role involves sourcing vendors, managing purchase orders, controlling inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to job sites. The manager will also develop a document control system for shipping and receiving, monitor vendor performance, and assist in cost analysis and budgeting related to procurement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Procure materials and equipment to meet the needs of the Construction and Service Departments.
  • Source vendors and suppliers for construction materials and equipment.
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Control inventory, tracking stock levels and managing restocking needs.
  • Coordinate and ensure the timely delivery of construction materials to job sites.
  • Develop and maintain a document control system for managing shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure that materials are procured and delivered according to project timelines and specifications.
  • Monitor vendor performance, ensuring compliance with agreements and quality standards.
  • Assist in cost analysis and budgeting related to procurement activities.
  • Resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, or vendor disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a refrigeration and or construction environment.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with proven ability to develop and manage supplier relationships.
  • Knowledge of document control, inventory management, and shipping/receiving processes.
  • Familiarity with mechanical drawings is advantageous.
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail, with a proven track record of thoroughness.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests with varying deadlines and levels of urgency.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
