About the position

The Purchasing/Warehouse Manager at Hamstra Heating & Cooling is responsible for overseeing purchasing and inventory management, warehouse operations, and tool management. This role involves establishing and managing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring efficient stock levels, and providing training to team members. The manager plays a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct functions related to purchasing and inventory management.
• Oversee the purchase of essential materials for HVAC installation and service/repair.
• Establish and manage working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain warehouse stock levels, cleanliness, and organization.
• Ensure accurate ordering of materials and prevent waste, damage, and theft.
• Manage Buyers and Warehouse Associates, providing training on procedures and policies.
• Deliver an unmatched client experience in alignment with company values.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years' experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain, and warehouse management
• Valid driver's license
• Strong skills in MS Office Applications
• ERP/MRP experience a plus
• APICS/CPIM Certification desired
• Knowledge of work instruction creation and process
• Strong negotiating skills
• KPI driven with a focus on continuous improvement
• Ability to analyze and manipulate data into actionable tasks
• Good mathematical skills for pricing and quantities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational skills
• Effective communication skills
