About the position

The Purchasing/Warehouse Specialist at Kent Moore Cabinets LLC is responsible for managing and overseeing the purchasing and receiving of materials, supplies, and services essential for the manufacturing and operation of a custom cabinet shop. This role involves collaboration with production personnel and vendors to ensure quality and efficiency in procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee purchasing and receiving for the finishing and assembly plant, with occasional forklift operation required.
• Confer with production personnel, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
• Direct and coordinate activities involving the procurement of goods and services.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including cross-training of Purchasing Manager and Purchasing Agent duties for other manufacturing facilities, with transportation between facilities required.

Requirements

• College degree in Business or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two to five years of experience in the purchasing field.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot effectively.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Experience with office computer programs and spreadsheets, with the ability to learn new programs.
• Negotiation and persuasion skills.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
