About the position

The Purchasing & Warehouse Supervisor at the Air Force Academy is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, ensuring the accurate movement and storage of merchandise, and maintaining safety and performance standards. This role involves managing inventory, verifying documentation, and leading warehouse associates to achieve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate functions, duties, and procedures are performed as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Receive, unload, move, and load merchandise.
• Verify correct counts of items received and note discrepancies or damages.
• Issue and deliver items to the proper destination and obtain signatures to document delivery/receipt.
• Maintain proper storage of inventory merchandise to avoid spills or spoilage; rotate stock according to schedule.
• Maintain work area in a safe and proper manner; report any unsafe and/or hazardous conditions.
• Manage and maintain stock control; plan future needs and adjust par levels, process stock order review orders, control dead stock, and maintain scheduling of deliveries on dock.
• Ensure FIFO system is used to minimize waste.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Operate forklift as necessary (on-the-job training provided).

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Ability to lift, push, pull up to 75 lbs frequently.
• Ability to ascend/descend stairs frequently.
• Frequent standing and walking.
