About the position

The Purchasing position at 24HR Safety, LLC. is responsible for managing the procurement of equipment and services based on requests from various company departments. The role emphasizes prioritizing purchases according to customer needs, ensuring competitive pricing, and maintaining effective communication throughout the order management process. The position requires collaboration with warehouse staff and customer service to ensure timely delivery and resolution of discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a status of current items on order and expedite suppliers as needed to meet customer demand.
  • Conduct special projects, negotiate with vendors, and manage orders from beginning to end.
  • Place orders for stock and/or customer-specific items accurately with a sense of urgency.
  • Ensure best pricing on customer-specific items.
  • Assist with receiving materials and troubleshooting discrepancies.
  • Interface with Warehouse personnel and Customer Service to ensure a smooth flow of information and timely receipt of back ordered items.
  • Support the growth of the business by sharing lessons learned and seeking ways to improve procurement and inventory management functions.
  • Work with customers, shippers, and freight forwarders to ship materials domestically and internationally.
  • Continually build on a knowledge base of procurement, inventory management, and safety product knowledge.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Three plus years of industrial products purchasing/buyer experience.
  • Proven vendor relations and negotiations experience.
  • Business Central software experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the safety industry preferred.
