About the position

The PV CAD Designer at ATTYX is responsible for creating construction documents for photovoltaic (PV) systems using AutoCAD. This role involves collaborating with local municipalities to ensure compliance with permitting requirements, designing and reviewing construction documents, and maintaining up-to-date system layouts and manufacturer templates. The position is integral to the operations team, focusing on accuracy and adherence to industry standards while fostering a positive and empowering work culture.

Responsibilities

• Create construction documents for PV systems utilizing AutoCAD.
• Work with local municipalities to ensure designs meet all permitting needs.
• Design and review construction documents for PV systems.
• Communicate with the operations team regarding preliminary and final system design.
• Draft system layouts, mounting details diagrams, and three-line diagrams.
• Ensure all cut sheets and manufacturer templates are up to date.
• Stay informed on the latest equipment and industry best practices.
• Review work from other departments to ensure accuracy.
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure accuracy of design layouts.
• Maintain department design standards and collaborate with management to improve processes.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in solar as a designer/draftsperson (preferred not required).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Google Suite (preferred not required).
• Exceptional creative problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Acute attention to detail (required).
• Experience with electrical and mechanical design.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code and applicable building codes.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to understand contract documents, plans, and specifications.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Strong computer skills.
