About the position

The Business Operations Manager (BOM) at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) plays a crucial role in the Administrative Service Center (ASC) model, focusing on providing quality, timely, and efficient services to stakeholders. This position is responsible for strategic budget management, academic support, and data management within the College of Performing & Visual Arts (PVA). The BOM will work closely with college leadership to develop policies, manage class schedules, oversee budgetary functions, and ensure compliance with university standards. This role also involves supervising staff and collaborating with various departments to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level support to leadership in the College of Performing & Visual Arts.
  • Assist in the development and administration of policies and procedures.
  • Create, maintain, and modify the master class schedule.
  • Manage class schedules and develop timetables for class scheduling.
  • Analyze department schedules for compliance with state and university policies.
  • Compile scheduled and special reports, analyses, and feasibility studies.
  • Provide curriculum development support to faculty.
  • Serve as the college's EvalKit administrator for course evaluations.
  • Assist with program review scheduling and documentation.
  • Understand the college's accounts and budgets, providing expertise on expenses and budget planning.
  • Coordinate the preparation and administration of annual operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Review funding availability and approve budget revision requests.
  • Advise college leadership on budgeting policies and procedures.
  • Conduct budget analysis and develop processes for resolution of budgetary problems.
  • Supervise full-time professional staff in the PVA Administrative Service Center.
  • Assist personnel with setting annual performance goals and evaluations.
  • Coordinate team meetings and represent the PVA ASC Team on leadership teams.
  • Work as a Data Steward for PVA to ensure accuracy of records and internal systems.
  • Serve as the college's SharePoint Administrator & Database Manager.
  • Verify faculty workload and analyze enrollment data for recommendations.
  • Track faculty contractual agreements and sabbatical eligibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible, related experience.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft 365 programs, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with budgets and budgeting.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
