About the position

The Python Developer - AVP Software Engineer position at Citigroup involves participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The role focuses on contributing to applications systems analysis and programming activities, particularly for the Wholesale Lending business, utilizing advanced Python development skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in strategic and tactical projects for the Wholesale Lending business.
• Develop applications using Advanced Python and contribute to application systems analysis.
• Engage in python-based streaming development and work with MongoDB and/or Oracle.
• Write code daily as a hands-on software engineer and develop multi-tier web applications.
• Implement microservices and full stack web development solutions.
• Ensure code quality, performance, unit testing, and build processing in CI/CD.
• Work independently with end users to gather requirements and design solutions.
• Demonstrate subject matter expertise in Applications Development.
• Adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate and solve problems effectively.
• Utilize version control tools like GIT, SVN, and Bitbucket.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of relevant experience in software applications development.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Proven ability to manage and implement successful projects.
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the financial services industry.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and ability to write shell & batch programs.
• Enthusiasm for learning and pursuing development of new skills.
