About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position. The role involves performing design, coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The successful candidate will provide innovative and creative solutions in a collaborative manner under tight deadlines. The position requires building sophisticated and complex functionality to the Treasury business to enhance the management of the client's liquidity. Additionally, maintaining high standards and following best practices by refactoring existing code to improve readability, performance, and overall structure is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform design, coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process.
• Provide innovative and creative solutions in a collaborative manner under tight deadlines.
• Build sophisticated and complex functionality to the Treasury business to enhance liquidity management.
• Maintain high standards and follow best practices by refactoring existing code to enhance readability, performance, and general structure.

Requirements

• Strong expertise and working experience in Python.
• Record of successful delivery of software applications as an individual and with a team.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and desire to implement continuous delivery and integration within the development life cycle.
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies and principles.
• Self-motivated, self-managed, team-player, action & results-focused, with a high command of verbal and written English.
• Knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms.
• Knowledge of ORM libraries like SQLAlchemy.
• Experience in databases (relational/document/etc.) including NoSQL databases.
• Experience building distributed and scalable complex services as well as Restful services and robust microservices.
• Experience with web services development and REST interfaces in Python.
• Experience with analytic reporting tools like Tableau.
• Analytical skills to perform technical and functional analysis with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work with business users involving complex requirements gathering and translating them into actionable items for developers.
