About the position

As a Python Developer at Jacobs Technology, Inc., you will play a crucial role in shaping the Cyber, Security, and Intelligence space. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about using their technical skills to support mission-critical projects that directly impact national security and intelligence missions. You will be working in a dynamic environment where your contributions will be valued and will have a significant effect on the organization's capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating products within the organization and across the agency baseline. You will leverage your expertise in Python to optimize prototype solutions into efficient production services. Additionally, you will work with container technologies and service-oriented architectures to enhance capabilities that perform geolocations, supporting the warfighter. This position requires a high level of independence and initiative, as you will be expected to take ownership of your work and deliver results that align with the agency's objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, particularly in developing scalable solutions for both large- and small-scale platforms. You will collaborate with other teams and services to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the systems you develop. Your work will be critical in advancing the agency's mission and enhancing its operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Strong experience developing in Python
  • Experience developing Service oriented architectures
  • Experience developing Microservice solutions
  • Experience developing scalable solutions, applicable to both large- and small-scale platforms
  • Experience with Gitlab
  • Strong experience with container technologies (Preferably Podman, at least Docker)
  • Familiarity with ELK and interfacing with it
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • 14 years' experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with infrastructure message (i.e., ITX)
  • Experience with Google Proto Buffs
  • Database experience such as Mongo or MySql
  • Experience with Agile development practices
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
