About the position

Infosys is seeking a Python Developer. In this role, you will enable digital transformation for our clients in a global delivery model, research on technologies independently, recommend appropriate solutions, and contribute to technology-specific best practices and standards. You will be responsible for interfacing with key stakeholders and applying your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle. Key Responsibilities include participating and contributing to the requirements elicitation process and creating requirements documentation. You will create design artifacts and support prototyping through the creation of POCs. Delivering high-quality code deliverables and supporting peers in quality checks to ensure that design requirements are met is essential. You will also create user documentation for the assigned modules and perform validation activities for the assigned modules for all types of testing, including Functional, Integration, System, and User Experience. Additionally, you will support the creation of a “Go Live” plan and manage assigned activities in the plan. Performing root-cause analysis of any issues that arise post-implementation and working on appropriate solutions is part of your responsibilities. You will participate in Knowledge Transfer sessions, prepare system appreciation documents, and support the transition process. Conducting impact analysis of issues logged, prioritizing, and ensuring that production support is provided as per committed SLAs is also required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Jersey City, NJ or New York, NY or must be willing to relocate to the area.
  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 2 years of Information Technology experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in end-to-end implementation of projects in Python, especially Python server-side backend programming.
  • Good understanding of OOPS concepts.
  • Strong hands-on experience in SQL, Unix shell scripting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Sound knowledge of software engineering design patterns and practices.
  • Strong knowledge in RESTful APIs, Data structures, Algorithms, Collections, Multi-threading and memory management and concurrency.
  • Knowledge in AIML (MLOps), LLM, Generative AI.
  • Knowledge in Big data ecosystem using Hadoop, Spark, Scala using Python packages and libraries for large scale data.
  • Good understanding of Agile software development frameworks.
  • Experience in Banking domain.
  • Strong communication and Analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in teams in a diverse, multi-stakeholder environment comprising of Business and Technology teams.
  • Experience and desire to work in a global delivery environment.
