About the position

The Python Developer position at Innova Solutions involves developing and delivering complex software solutions to meet business goals. The role requires ensuring compliance with functional and non-functional requirements while collaborating with teams to resolve technical challenges. This is a long-term contract position based in Houston, Texas, with a hybrid work model requiring three days onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver complex software requirements to accomplish business goals.
  • Ensure software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements.
  • Code solutions, unit tests, and ensure successful integration into the overall application/system.
  • Contribute to story refinement and defining requirements.
  • Participate in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
  • Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Utilize multiple architectural components in design and development of client requirements.
  • Collaborate with team to resolve technical complexities involved in realizing the story work.
  • Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance) and analyze test reports.
  • Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, and support.
  • Participate in delivery/release activities such as branching timelines, pull requests, and issue triage.

Requirements

  • Strong development experience using Python and C#.
  • 6+ years of extensive experience working as a developer using C# and Python on the server side.
  • Exposure to enterprise messaging solutions (e.g., MSMQ, TIBCO EMS, AMPS).
  • Database development skills with experience in SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase.
  • Experience developing software using Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of JIRA tools and Continuous Integration capabilities.
  • Hands-on experience in writing unit and UI integration test cases.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex solutions to technical and business users.
  • Excellent debugging skills and experience in Second Level Application Support.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Source code management experience with Bit Bucket or Git.
  • Experience in Financial/Commodities Trading/Investment Banking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with web services, web sockets, and microservice-based architecture.
