About the position

Genesis10 is seeking a Python Developer for a 12+ month contract position in the financial industry, specifically in Jersey City, NJ. The role involves building and maintaining software in Python within the client's Quartz environment, collaborating with Business Analysts to understand user requirements, and delivering data solutions to internal consumers. The developer will leverage Python to create components that support various critical functions of the firm, including Trading & Risk Management, as well as regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain software written in Python within the client's Quartz environment.
• Work with Business Analysts to understand user requirements and implement solutions.
• Leverage Python to build components in the technology stack.
• Provide data critical to Trading & Risk Management, middle office, back office, and regulatory reporting.

Requirements

• 8+ years of Python development experience.
• 5+ years of experience in investment banking.
• Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of Python Object Oriented Development.
• Experience in real-time messaging and SQL.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address performance issues.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with Quartz application development or similar applications such as Athena or SecDB.
