About the position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Python Developer to join our client in Houston. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing innovative applications and a strong understanding of software development principles. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-commodity teams to drive the expansion of data assets and strengthen analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and define requirements for data ingestion and accessibility.
• Develop ETL workflows to extract data from external sources and deliver it to applications and key stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development initiatives, including the standardization and consolidation of core modules.
• Develop modular, reusable components to integrate external data sources with internal tools and databases.
• Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and maintainability of the company Python codebase.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional coding experience with Python at the enterprise level
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with web scraping tools such as Requests, Beautiful Soup, Selenium, etc.
• Proficiency in Oracle / PL SQL development, including the use of stored procedures
• Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Familiarity with Pandas and NumPy packages
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Commodities or Energy industries is preferred, but not required
