About the position
The Python Developer role at Matlen Silver is a contract position focused on developing and delivering complex software solutions to meet business goals. The developer will ensure that software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements while coding solutions, performing unit tests, and integrating them into the overall application/system. The position requires collaboration with team members to refine requirements, estimate work, and resolve technical complexities throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to story refinement and defining requirements.
- Participate and guide the team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
- Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
- Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
- Utilize multiple architectural components in design and development of client requirements.
- Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
- Contribute to existing test suites, analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause.
- Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
- Participate, contribute, and coach team members in the delivery/release events.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python programming language.
- Experience with software development and testing practices.
- Ability to contribute to story refinement and requirement definition.
- Experience in estimating work for software delivery.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with integration, regression, and performance testing.
- Knowledge of architectural components across data, application, and business domains.
