About the position

The Sr. Python Developer is responsible for developing and coding IT solutions using Python to enhance Florida Blue Customer Experience applications. This role involves documentation, unit testing, peer code reviews, and maintenance of applications, as well as performance testing of purchased products. The developer will also implement IT controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of applications and data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and code IT solutions using Python for Florida Blue Customer Experience applications.
• Document the system and conduct unit tests and peer code reviews.
• Maintain internally developed applications and evaluate performance of purchased products.
• Implement IT controls to protect application and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Develop REST APIs and process batch files using Python.
• Schedule batch processes and evaluate various libraries for business and technical requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical design and coding in the IT industry.
• Experience with UNIX or Linux shell scripting.
• Advanced SQL scripting/querying skills.
• Working knowledge of PySpark and Hadoop environment.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large data sets.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Health Care or Financial domains.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
