About the position

The Python Developer will be an integral part of a team focused on both strategic and tactical projects within the Wholesale Lending business. This role requires a strong background in Python development, particularly in creating RESTful web services and microservices, while ensuring high standards of code quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using Advanced Python.
• Create RESTful web services using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Applications Development.
• Write and maintain microservices with a focus on messaging.
• Engage in daily coding and software engineering tasks.
• Ensure code quality, performance, and conduct unit testing within CI/CD processes.
• Work with both relational and non-relational databases.
• Write shell and batch programs as needed.
• Utilize version control tools like GIT, SVN, and Bitbucket.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge and development experience in Advanced Python.
• Proficiency in developing RESTful web services.
• Experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Demonstrated experience in microservices and messaging.
• Hands-on experience in software engineering and daily coding.
• Knowledge of code quality, performance, unit testing, and CI/CD processes.
• Understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
• Ability to write shell and batch programs.
• Experience with version control tools like GIT, SVN, and Bitbucket.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in python-based streaming (ETL/Kafka) development.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (k8's).
• Experience with MongoDB.
• Background in the financial services industry.
• Exposure to UI development work.
