About the position

The Python Developer position at BC Forward involves working as an Application Programmer V in a collaborative Agile team environment. The role requires a high degree of initiative and technical excellence, focusing on design, coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The developer will contribute to building sophisticated functionalities for the Treasury business, enhancing the management of the bank's liquidity.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, debug, test, and troubleshoot applications throughout the development process.
• Collaborate with team members to provide innovative solutions under tight deadlines.
• Implement continuous delivery and integration within the software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Gather complex requirements from business users and translate them into actionable items for developers.
• Maintain high standards and follow best practices by refactoring existing code to enhance readability and performance.
• Build distributed and scalable services, including RESTful and microservices.

Requirements

• Strong expertise and working experience in Python.
• Knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with ORM libraries like Sqlalchemy.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience in building distributed and scalable services as well as RESTful services.
• Experience with web services development and REST interfaces in Python.
• Experience with analytic reporting tools like Tableau.
• Strong analytical skills for technical and functional analysis.
• Experience working in regulatory projects is strongly desirable.
• Experience working in containers.
• Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, and Git.
• Experience working on high volume applications.
• Experience working in Agile teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Liquidity Reports like Fed5g, LCR, NSFR, CRD IV.
