About the position

Akkodis is seeking a Python Developer for a contract position focused on migrating batch/ETL code from Perl to Python as part of a technology alignment project. The role involves developing and maintaining ETL processes, collaborating with team members, and ensuring the functionality of the migrated code.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining ETL processes with a focus on Python and Microsoft Transact SQL.
• Reading and interpreting Perl code to facilitate accurate translation to Python.
• Designing and architecting frameworks for efficient ETL processes.
• Collaborating with team members and operational partners to validate functionality.
• Conducting code reviews, testing fixes, and participating in design reviews.
• Working within an Agile development environment using tools like JIRA and Bitbucket.
• Managing and optimizing interactions with databases, including MongoDB and SQL Server.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Python development.
• Strong ability to read and translate Perl code into Python.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Transact SQL.
• Design and architecture experience for ETL processes.
