About the position
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python/Django Developer for our client located in New York, NY. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position. The primary focus of this role is to rebuild and re-architect the data foundation for a commercial web educational search application. The current application operates with MongoDB as its back-end database, but the client is transitioning to a MySQL database. As part of an Agile development team, the ideal candidate will be expected to develop in a rational and pragmatic manner, aligning with the VP's vision for the project. This position requires a strong foundation in Python and Django, as well as excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team and with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Rebuild and re-architect the data foundation for the commercial web educational search application.
- Transition the back-end database from MongoDB to MySQL.
- Collaborate with the Agile development team to ensure effective project delivery.
- Develop in a rational and pragmatic manner as per the VP's requirements.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and Django is required.
- Experience with MongoDB is preferred.
- Experience with MySQL is required due to the transition.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
