About the position

The Python Pyspark Developer role at Susquehanna International Group involves designing and developing surveillance, monitoring, and reporting tools for the compliance business community. This position is integral to overseeing SIG's trading activities across various products, including options, equities, futures, fixed income, and cryptocurrencies. The role emphasizes collaboration in a meritocratic environment, allowing the developer to solve impactful business problems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build new tools and enhancements to existing surveillance and monitoring tools for the compliance business community.
• Develop solutions using Python, Hadoop, Spark, and HIVE/SQL.
• Work on projects requiring deep knowledge of Python and Spark to deliver custom solutions to big data efficiently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least six years of progressive experience developing software applications using an object-oriented language.
• Strong object-oriented design and implementation experience, coupled with big data experience.
• At least three years of recent hands-on experience with Python and Spark technologies.
• Experience with HIVE/SQL is a strong plus.
• Willingness and ability to work in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with an analytical mindset.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong communication skills across multiple disciplines including technology, support, and business teams.
