About the position

As a Python Software Developer at RGi, you will play a crucial role in modernizing capabilities and developing enhancements for critical missions supporting the U.S. Government. This position involves working within a tight-knit agile development team to create solutions that integrate various systems, utilizing the latest technologies in Cloud Computing, Microservices Architecture, and AI/ML. Your contributions will include designing, implementing, testing, and integrating components within a microservice architecture, all while collaborating in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, and integrate new and updated software components.
  • Employ industry design principles and open-source tools to deliver and integrate capabilities.
  • Compose solutions using microservices, containerization, and RESTful web components.
  • Collaborate within a distributed team in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Contribute to the integration of capabilities from different systems.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Clojure, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Experience integrating multiple applications and developing software enhancements for mission systems.
  • Proficiency in designing, documenting, testing, and debugging software solutions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, and Kafka.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code applications (Chef, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Experience with ElasticSearch and AWS environments.
  • Knowledge of continuous integration and software configuration management processes/tools (Subversion, GIT, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment.
